Frank began his career in the insurance industry as a broker with Leslie & Godwin (now part of the Aon Group). In 1987, he joined Eagle Star as an underwriter and was seconded overseas for 7 years. During this period he established branches and operations for Eagle Star in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Japan. In 1995, Frank joined Lloyd's of London and subsequently became Head of International, responsible for the Lloyd's franchise worldwide (excluding North America). He was Chairman, President and Director of numerous subsidiaries.
Frank left Lloyd's in July 2001 and has been working with Peter Lane on a number of projects since then within the insurance sector and has also been working with Graeme Stephen on several private equity investments.
Frank holds a BA (Hons) in English & American Literature and an MBA.
Having served his legal training with Brodies in Edinburgh, Graeme joined Clifford Chance in London in 1986. While there, Graeme undertook secondments in Bahrain (1988-90), Singapore (1990-93), and Norway (1993).
In 1993, Graeme joined Man Investment Products in Switzerland, subsequently becoming Director and Head of Corporate Finance. Graeme had prime responsibility for the establishment of Man Alternative Investments Limited, an investment trust listed on the London Stock Exchange.
Graeme was educated at Fettes College in Edinburgh, holds a law degree from Dundee University, and was enrolled as a Scottish solicitor in 1986 and as an English solicitor in 1990.
John began his career in the insurance industry as a marine underwriter with the Commercial Union Insurance Company. He served the Commercial Union in a variety of senior roles over a 22-year period, including stints in Dublin and New York prior to leaving in 1985.
In 1985 John joined the board of Eagle Star Insurance Company, and went on to create Eagle Star Reinsurance Company Ltd, then the largest re-insurer in the London Market.
In 1994, John became President & CEO of International Property & Casualty Reinsurance Ltd (IPC Re), a new Bermudan catastrophe re-insurer established by AIG and George Soros. In 1996 John took IPC Re public with a very successful flotation. John retired from IPC Re in July 2000 and returned to the UK.
Nigel had a twenty five year career in the City of which twenty two years was with Lehman Brothers. He held various positions throughout that time and was made a Managing Director in 1994.
In 1997 he was appointed CAO of Lehman Brothers Europe with responsibility for Finance, Operations, IT, Real Estate and HR. He also served as a member of the Firm’s European Executive Committee for eight years.
Since retiring from Lehman Brothers in 2006 he has become actively involved as a business angel with several small companies in different sectors acting as both investor and consultant.
John co-founded a construction company in South Wales, which he built up and sold, before moving into banking by joining an American and Scandinavian consortium bank in the City.
In 1984, he moved to The Fuji Bank, Limited where he spent 10 years on the UK corporate finance side, and then in the Financial Institutions Group, where John's work with clients such as Eagle Star, and AMP, resulted in FIG achieving the no 1 position in the UK Syndicated Finance Market for 3 years running.
In 1993, John was appointed to the International Finance Group within Fuji, which looked after all Fuji's business within the emerging markets of Europe, Africa and the Middle East. After successful stints in the Middle East and South Africa, John was appointed Head of this Division.
In 2002, John left Fuji to set up a management consultancy and to act as a business angel in the UK private equity sector where he has helped set up several companies in a variety of sectors, and for whom he continues to act as either a consultant or a non-exec.
Peter is a former Economic Adviser to HM Treasury.
He spent over 13 years with Royal Dutch Shell, including acting as CEO in the Eastern Caribbean and as a Director of Shell UK Oil. In 1994, Peter joined Lloyd's of London as a Director, and was a key figure in the successful Reconstruction & Renewal programme that restored Lloyd's. Following the rescue programme, he was appointed Managing Director, North America, with the brief to re-establish Lloyd's position in its key market.
After leaving Lloyd's, Peter established a joint venture with a New York based insurance group where he served as President & CEO.
Since returning home to the UK in 2002, he has been engaged in a number of ventures through his consulting and investment firm.
Peter holds a B.Sc.Econ. (Hons), an MA (Economics) and is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School.
